Miri:- Malaysia Pickleball Association has launched its MPA Certified Pickleball Instructor Level 1 course with 5 participants successfully attended the course. The training was conducted on 22nd November at Gymkhana Club Miri.
The curriculum is designed to give the participants adequate knowledge and technical skills to teach beginners the correct way to start the sport. Upon completion of the course the trainer is able to explain and demonstrate the techniques by breaking down into steps for the students to understand and learn effectively.
The association has recently met up with the Assistant Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture and member of the Sarawak State Assembly for Piasau Miri, YB Datuk Sebastian Ting to introduce 2 new sports including Pickleball. Miri is the first city to start Pickleball in Malaysia. During the meeting, the association shared the latest development, ambitions and future plan for the sport.
In Malaysia, pickleball is currently available in Miri, Kuching, KL, Johor and Seremban. Plans are on the way to expand the sports to other major cities in East and West Malaysia.
